What to Expect During Your Visit

Assessment process: Your child will be seen by 2 or more members of our team. Your child will receive a formal developmental assessment by a team of specialists. After we finish all of our assessments, we ask parents to return to the clinic for a 45-minute conference with the team.

The length of your visit depends on how many specialists you see. Each appointment lasts from 30 minutes to 3 hours. You may need to come to the clinic on 3 separate days.

Payment/Insurance: We accept Medicaid and most commercial insurance plans. Commercial insurance plan requirements vary. The cost of an assessment will also vary, based on your child’s age, the type of testing, and how many specialists you see. Some commercial insurance plans have preauthorization requirements. We recommend that you contact your insurance carrier to discuss what services will be covered, and what you may owe. We require a referral from your child’s Primary Care Provider for our services

E-Care is the confidential medical record system used for Sangwai Clinics. You can view upcoming appointments, lab results, and other visit information online. Parents or guardians of children may sign up for eCare access to their children’s online health records.

Interpreter Services: Specially trained medical interpreters are available for patients or family members who do not speak English. Be sure to request an interpreter, if needed, when you contact our clinic. Let us know which language you prefer to use.
